[Opinions] Deirdre
I had a huge crush on this name a couple of years ago, but then kind of forgot about it. I saw it in a book yesterday and have been falling in love with it again. I don’t remember seeing it here for a long time. What do you think of Deirdre?

I love Deirdre! It's so solemn and heavy-hearted.

It isn't a favorite but it's nice.

I like it very much.
I only know one Deirdre, and she uses the Irish pronounciation, her parents emigrated to Canada from Ireland.

I think it is pretty and strong. It is one of my go to Gaelic names.

I like that name. It's pretty darned 70's, but still, I think it manages to be dramatic but unpretentious. The trouble (IMO) is the pronunciation. I like DAIR-dra, but DEER-dra and DEER-dree seem more common.

I use DEER-dree, but I also like the Irish pronunciation.

I like all the pronunciations but my favorite are the traditional Irish way and DEER-druh.

Woah, I was thinking about posting about Deirdre today. I knew someone by that name in university (10 years ago), and I liked it at the time. I also hadn't thought of it in a while, but I still really like it. Cute and cool and even a bit sophisticated, perhaps. It's a keeper.

I love Deirdre, there was a Deirdre in my class in Kindergarten, and I see it every so often. I used to know someone whose absolute favorite name was Deidre but personally I prefer Deirdre. It is actually one of my top favorite girls names as you can see in my signature. I really like the sound of it, plus it seems very cool and beautiful in more of a darker sultry way but at the same time it sounds down to earth.
