Actually, Reier is a version of Reidar (as is Reiar). It is very unusual, only 40 people (men) in Norway are named Reiar. Reidar is a lot more common,Origin: Hred (house, home) and Ar (probably form Arr; warrior)
RAY-er is pretty close, but you could also pronounce it more like RAI-er, depending on your dialect.
