[Opinions] Darius/Darien
What do you think of the name Darien, or the more classical form Darius ? Have you ever heard it used where you are from?

I like Darien. I don't like Darius as much for some reason, maybe it feels too biblical to me? I've never met a real life Darius. I'm not sure whether or not I've met a Darien (none I can think of off the top of my head though).

Darius happens now and then in South Africa - there was a rather good rugby-playing Darius some years ago. Darien is more geographical - stout Cortez, silent upon his peak in Darien! Which is good. I enjoy Damien, so why not Darien? Compared to Darius it lacks historical authenticity as a name, but so do many others that don't look and sound nearly as good.

I know an elderly man named Darius. (not only that, but he has a sister named Daria.)I'm in Canada, province of New Brunswick.I like the name, good for both child and adult.

I've toyed with Darien before. It's kind of an update on Darren, which I really like, so naturally I like Darien as well. I don't like Darius as much- I guess I'm more fond of the -ien ending than the -us ending. And you can use Dare as a nickname, which is cool. I've never met a person with either name.

They both sound like the sounds produced during severe gastrointestinal discomfort.

I've never seen those two here, but Darian/ Darijan is occasionally used and Dario is very common.

I've met one Dariush, he is the father of someone I used to go to school with. At least I think it was Dariush, could have been Darius as well.
It's not a favorite name, but it's okay. I do prefer Darian though, since I'm a sucker for -ian names.

I don't know any. I don't like Darien at all, Darian would be better, but Darius is great :)

I've known or known of two Darians, both females. One is about 18 and the other died last year and was about thirty. Never met a Darius.I don't like Darian on a boy or a girl. Darius is handsome, but Dario is even more so.

Darius is unique and sophisticated, it would definitely age well. I think that a boy might outgrow Darien, it seems more of a youthful name (i think thats because of the e in it). Ive never heard either before, but then again where i live, the most common language is french.
