[Opinions] Delilah
WDYT of this name?
A friend of my mum's named her daughter Delilah Hope the other day. I don't really like it. The sound is pretty but the connotation of it are terrible!

It sounds lovely, but the connotations are too bad to be overlooked. I would NEVER use it. Also, it sounds a bit like one of the made up Da- names, like DaShaun.

I'm not crazy about Delilah, although the mister loves it. It's not even so much the bible whore part either - just the Duh sound at the beginning. Very unattractive to me.

OK name, but it *always* makes me think of the Tom Jones song.

I love it. For some reason I'm not bothered by the connotations. Even the Puritans used Delilah, because she also possessed wit and beauty. It's certainly more interesting than the trendy-blah Lilah. Delilah Hope sounds lovely. In general Hope is a filler, but when paired with an exotic first name, I don't mind so much._____________________________________________________________________Elinor

Delilah is a decent enough name. Hope is an underused middle name. I think the combo sounds quite good.

It does make me immediately think of seductress in the Bible by that name so I wouldn't ever use it. I think Lila Hope would have been better and much prettier! Oh, well.Image hosting by Photobucket
Ladybugs all dressed in red,
Waltzing thru the flower bed!
If I were tiny, just like you,
I'd dance among the flowers too!

I don't think the connotation is all that bad... I mean, sure, Delilah wasn't a "good" Biblical character, but many people don't even know her story. I also don't think of Delilah as a name that's associated with just one person.Delilah is a beautiful name, I think, and I love the flow of Delilah Hope.
