[Opinions] Wdyt of Cullen?
Hey guys! So what do you think of the name Cullen? Too related to Twilight, or do you think it is still usable? (And do you think that the Twilight association will fade in a timely fashion?)Do you think it works as a name in a fantasy series, or no?

Makes me think of
1. Twilight
2. CullingThe association with Twilight may diminish over time, but not "culling".

I don't care for it, twilight or no...
It just sounds too...weird...I dunno...I think of culinary, or maybe how my granny would say they'd "cull peas..." Which could be nothing more than a southern term, but I still don't like the name:)

I dislike it for 3 reasons.
1. Yes, I think it it's to tied to the twilight series. Although the first names in that series are useable, I don't think this one is because, as a surname, it was rarely used as a first name before the twilight books came out.2. It is a surname and I dislike surnames as first names generally.3. It has the word "cull" in it, as in "kill a certain number of a species in order to control their numbers". Not a nice word or association.

Too Twilight. I'm not sure how long that association will linger

I think it could work in a fantasy series, but I do think it's a little too close in time to Twilight to be usable. Maybe something similar-ish like Curran, Callum/Calum, Ciaran, Callan, Calan, or Cillian, Caolan/Caylin, or a name that you devise that gives the same feel? Since Cullen's a last name (and to me it's a ln that sounds a bit too last namey to use as a fn) maybe try the BtN surname site for ideas?
