I've encountered a couple of girls named
Arin (spelled the same way) and they do say 'air-in', probably because it's considered a 'feminization' of
Aaron or alternative spelling or
Erin, both pronounced 'air-in' themselves here. Maybe your parents pronunciation is like an accent thing?
The assumed pronunciation can be extrapolated by the explanation given on the name page for
Arin though-- it says it's a variant spelling of
Erin, meaning it's assumed it's said the same way.
