[Opinions] Delaney
Not a name I see mentioned often and just curious what everyone's thoughts are on it.

What say you about Delaney? photo image_zps50478a13.jpg

It's a name I forget about but I do actually quite like it. I find it modern without being trendy or kr8yv.

I knew a really bratty little girl with this name. Sorry but she just left a bad taste in my mouth.

It just never happens where I live, or not yet anyway. To me, it's all Oirish ln. I suppose its use is inevitable where Laine or Lainey and De-everyone names are popular. Also the -y ending, which seems to classify names as exclusively fem.

I just realized that it's not pronounced Del-an-ee and I don't like it as much now :b

Eh. It has a sort of sashaying-spunky quality, like the De- is a prefix. As a girl's name I think: Elaine --> Lainey --> D'Laney --> Delaney.
When I think of the surname, which I usually don't, it seems really very mannish. Like Sheridan.
But I'm about as used to it as I am used to Mackenzie and Kennedy - so that it doesn't bother me.

I abhor it. The sound, the appearance, the trendiness, etc.

I love the name for a boy! To me, it just doesnt suit a female at all. I see Delaney as either a boys name or as a surname. I'm surprised that it's actually a girls name. like seriously?? Haha

I liked it until I had a class with a Delaney. Now I find it harsh and annoying (and not because of the person, she was very nice). Just hearing it all the time... duh laaaayyy neeeeee. All the charm, gone.
