As far as I know, all the Alexes I have known have been just Alex, except for one whose name is Alexei or similar spelling.
I have not known personally any female Alexes; Lexi seems to be the go-to nickname for Alexandra or Alexis.
For a boy I don't mind Alex, but for Alexandra I think I'd rather see Allie or maybe Sandy. But I don't much like the name Alexandra anyhow. I prefer Alexis with no nickname.
I think, therefore I judge.
