[Opinions] Maura / Moira
I've been a big fan of Mara for a long time, but sometimes I think about Maura and Moira as well. What are your thoughts on these names?

Moira reminds me of the word Moron. I prefer Maire. Mara is okay, though the meaning is odd. And Maura looks a bit to much like Laura. Morana is nice as well.

Morana definitely reminds me more of moron. :/

I like Maura very much. Alas, it's dreadful with my surname since it's a verb. Mara is pretty too although the meaning puts me off a bit. Moira stresses the 'oy' sound and I don't care for it as much visually.

I love the name Moira and I don’t mind Mara I just hat how it sounds in my accent. As for Maura I can’t say a fan, i don’t like the -au- sound.

Do really like Mara or Maura but I adore Moira. I tried to talk my husband into it but he wasn't as keen.

I think Mara is kind of dull, but isn't terrible. I don't really like how it sounds.I don't like Maura. I read a book with a Moira in it and I think that influenced me to like the name somewhat. I imagine an adventurous, wild, young woman, or a refined young woman from the early 1900's. Those images are kind of contradictory. Haha I thought Moira Pearl would be a nice combination and in line with my early 1900's image. I don't know if I could truly like Moira for a daughter though.
