It sounds a bit like a fantasy name to my ear (especially Tolkien or the Neverending Story) and it’s not my personal style, but it’s not awful.

I've just added a comment to its page, because it looks as though it has a much longer history as an English name than the given info is currently indicating.
I quite like the look and the sound of it, but wouldn't personally use a random Biblical placename.

I really like it, but prefer as a mn rather than a fn. Love the meaning of this name though.

Not bad. It isn’t really my style but it is a pretty solid and fairly rare name.

I like it and actually prefer it to Mariah.
Moriah has been on my list for years now. (: Not a name I can ever see myself using...but I appreciate its beauty nonetheless.

I know it's not a creative way to spell Mariah, but in everyday speech they would sound exactly alike, and you'd have to keep saying Mariah with an o, and really, who needs that? I like Mariah just fine.

It'll be misspelled a lot, but if you don't care about that then go for it.

To me they sound different? MOR-eye-ah versus muh-RYE-uh.

The Moriah's I've met have all pronounced it muh-RYE-uh, the same as Mariah.
