I knew an
Angelique (often
Angie) when I was growing up in California. She pronounced it ANN-zhe-LEEK. I like the name, but it might only be because I liked her... I'm not sure. I like other -eek names, and I like
Angela, so maybe I do like it. I like it more than
Angelica,
Angelina, and
Angeline but not more than
Angela. To me it has a "French borrowing trend" vibe and goes with names like
Denise,
Jacqueline,
Aimee,
Michelle,
Stephanie,
Nicole,
Renee,
Christine. It'd be surprising to see it as a baby name, where I live.
