Margaret itself doesn't have a lot of appeal for me - it's sort of matronly, I mean in a positive way, it's a good name. But it doesn't appeal to me as a name for a child.

I do like some of the nicknames - even as full names. My favorites are
Maggie
Margot
Peggy
Gretchen
And I also like Meg, Meggie, and Margie pretty well.
