[Opinions] Vera
I'm wondering your opinion of Vera. Do you think it could become popular, or at least pick up some steam? It's due, I think.

We are considering using this as a name for our next baby if it’s a girl. It’s the name of my husbands 95 year old cousin.

I know a 2 year old Vera. It could definitely pick up some steam soon; it has a similar vibe to Mila which is gaining lots of traction.

Vera, to me, lacks sparkle and verve. I far prefer Verity. But, stranger names than Vera have become popular, so why not?

I think it's about due to become popular. I think the English pronunciation is pretty severe, so not sure if it will catch on like other somewhat similar names. DH's Nana is named Vera so part of me wonders if we may not use it as a middle name if we have a little girl someday.

It absolutely could: like Jane--and I do, Vera's beauty is in her simplicity; and any such likeness in no way detracts from my adoration of Amalasuintha, Melisande, Amaryllis, or Cunigunde - and a holy hostess of Germanic names & similar derivatives.

I think it’s alright. It might get more popular because if the old fashioned trend.

I like it, and I guess it could get into the old fashioned trend?

Vera is delightful, and I think it could make a comeback along with other old-fashioned names like Ada or Iris.
