WDYT of Lux?Boy, or girl? **Starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam/Butterscotch clouds, a tangerine, and a side order of ham**

In theory I want to like it. I like the meaning and I tend to enjoy Xs, but it feels more like an abbreviation for luxury or deluxe to me and that kind of ruins it. I think it leans somewhat more girl, because I get Lucy vibes off of it.

I like it, more so as a middle name than a first name, or as a cute nick name for a longer "Luc-" name (e.g. Luciana, Lucinda etc.). I find it to be more feminine. As a random side note, I find Pax (which is feminine) to be more masculine.

Way too soapy.

The Virgin Suicides is the first thing that comes to mind. Feminine and pretty, but odd. I wouldn't use ti, but it fits in with today's trends.

Strictly soap.

I like it, it’s short and sweet. Definitely only for a girl imo.

I remember a time when I thought it was weird/dumb/deluxe, but now it just makes me think of light (lux, the unit of illuminance), flux, and luck.I'd assume it was feminine, but I feel pretty neutral about it either way.

Makes me think of a laundry detergent. Was it a laundry detergent? *Googles* Yes, and also beauty soaps, shower gels, bath additives, hair shampoos and conditioners. Okay.My friend nicknamed her son Lex, for his middle name Alexander, and I don't even like that, much less Lux.It sounds more feminine to me.

I adore its meaning! But for me as a Dutch person, the name is too close to the Dutch word luxe meaning "luxury". It's basically all I can see whenever I look at the name, so I wouldn't ever want to use it.The name is strictly masculine in my mind, by the way.

It's exactly the same in English, and that's my association as well.

I would say girl. However the name was a brand of soap in Britain and I don’t know if I could put that association aside.

I don't like it. It sounds overtly sleek and slippery, like a new iPhone model and feels more feminine to me.

I vaguely remember it from "The Virgin Suicides" and that it was very out of place with the names of the other sisters.
It doesn't sound like a name at all. More like a brand name, like some faux fur material. I believe it was or maybe still is a laundry detergent too.
Also, I'm against any names you can't play the "Banana fana-fo-fanna" game with.

I think of it as totally unisex and I also think it sounds bad. There aren't any options except Lucks and Lewks, right? Either way it just sounds like a clunky English word.

Not a good name.Girl.

Makes me think of The Virgin Suicides... prefer it on a girl... sounds mysterious and cold... on a boy it seems very superhero-y and kinda comical.

makes me think of soap, body wash, washing soap flakes etc
