What do you think of Cornelius?
I myself kind of adore how fancy and pompous it looks, but on the other hand, the "Corn-" part bothers me a bit.

Very well used by Afrikaans speakers, with numerous nicknames. Cor, Corrie, Cornel (corNEL), Neels, Nelis ... I've never met an English-speaking one.

Oh it’s not so bad :) Most people are nice and follow our few little rules so I hardly have to do a thing really.

I like it. It's 100% "long white hair, beard, round glasses, wizard hat, robe", so not exactly a name for a baby IMO, but it would be a good middle name.

It's kinda pretentious, but the corn part doesn't bother me. I can see it being a good name.

Not bad. Makes me think of Cornelius Fudge (Harry Potter). I would just be worried about the nicknames Corn and Corny as it is quite long. And Conny isn't great either.

I prefer the feminine version, Cornelia. But I do find Cornelius kind of appealing.
