[Opinions] Kelly
Today I met a sweet little girl, about 3, named Kelly (spelling assumed). What do you think of the name? I'm kinda' into it personally.https://babynames.com/namelist/9869322

I like it. It's better spelled with an "ie"

I love it. I think it's sweet, but ages just fine. I like it just as well if not more on a boy. My son's godmother is Kelly Frances which is a touch too unisex for me.

I dislike it. It makes me think of Barbie (she had a sister or friend named Kelly), of Kelly from "Beverly Hills 90210" and of 80s cheerleaders. So overall: blond cheerleader. From the 80s. Not appealing. But not a horrible name either.

I've heard of it as a f name, but the only two Kelly people I've met were both men: one was just Kelly, and the other's full name was Michael. I thought Kelly made a pleasant change from Mike, Mick etc.I wouldn't use it for either gender; it seems both surnamey and flimsy.

I'm more familiar with this being a surname, specifically the surname of one our nursery teachers. Both women were lovely (Bramley and Kelly) and I have fond, if faint, memories of them. Then there's also Gene Kelly. But I had a college friend called Kelly and I admit that it was jarring the first time I heard this surname be used as a first name. Also my newly-met American friend is called Kelly. I do like it, I think it's nice. Not my style, but it's nice. It's got a 90s sound to it, but this might be due to Mrs Kelly, the nursery teacher and this was literally 1997 - 1998 so

It’s very very dated.

It's a soccer mom name to me, but that doesn't automatically make it bad, or unappealing. I just know my share of 40 or 50-something moms named Kelly, including an aunt.Anyway, it's a perfectly fine name. I don't have strong feelings about it. It's just THERE.
