[Opinions] Gage
Just found somebody on Facebook named Gage. Can't tell the gender of the individual; they appear masculine on their facebook (includes male pronouns) but they go by a female persona on a game we're playing so I'd rather not speculate on that front. Never seen this name before in my life; what do you all think?---"one particular boogie will move mirror massaging with stirring crepe mixture, positioning loaves while in the furnace then toting items in containers" ~ best Russian daing sites (guest, 198.144.149.xxx) (2020)

I'll always see this as the name of the zombie baby from Pet Sematary.

Just another lnfn really, but because it sounds like 'gauge' it makes me unhappy. Definitely inhuman!

An old friend of mine named her son Gage, I guess it was in the early 00s. It's alright, I don't love it. Just a surname name to me, a little awkward because it sounds like a word, but easy to recognize as a name instead, with that spelling - kinda like Nash. A little better than Nash, imo.
Friend and her husband admitted they were influenced by Pet Sematary, but didn't care about the character because they just liked the name.
I never saw PS so I didn't care either. The name reminded me, and still reminds me, of Phineas Gage (famous for surviving a severe brain injury that changed his personality).

One of my friends has a grandson named Gage Lastname. In his case it's a family surname. He was born around 2000. I'm not too crazy about the name.

Gage was fairly common for boys in the USA between 1995 and 2015. I think it's a good name in the abstract but I'm a little queasy about the fact that it was popularized by a character in "Pet Sematary" who was a small child who came back from the dead and murdered his mother. When I mention that I often get the response "but the child actor who played him was so cute!"
There was also some influence, though, from a character on the American TV show "Emergency!" named John Gage who was usually addressed as "Gage" by other characters on that program.
