[Opinions] Aisling
What do you think of Aisling? It is an Irish name.
There are three standard pronunciations depending on the area. ASH-leen, ASH-ling, ASH-lin. I believe ASH-ling is the most common one.
Personally my favorite is ASH-leen.
Do you like Aisling? Which pronunciation do you like?
Where is it pronounced where you live?
Do you like the ASH-leen pronunciation?
Would you use an alternate spelling? (Ashling for ASH-ling or Ashleen for ASH-leen or Aislin, Aislinn?)

Don't like at all, Ayz-ling is how I instinctively pronounce it.
An acquaintance of mine is named Aisling, we live in the states and she pronounces it Ayz-ling with the g and all. I think this was a case of her parents finding it in a babybook but having no idea on pronunciation so they just ran with it. She was born in the pre-internet era of course. With that said.. I may be bad but I love her 'incorrect' pronunciation out of all of them. As an adolescent I loved her name and I thought she had the most beautiful name out of anyone I knew at the time. When I took the time to look it up online when I was maybe 19 ish and saw it's 'real' pronunciations I was actually completely floored & disappointed. Ash-Lynn feels very trendy & boring to me. With that said, she had reported to me that it was extremely rare that people call her by the Irish pronunciations and this is probably because it's a name you almost never see in my region. She will get called Ainsley more than Ashleen or Aslynn anyday I've been informed.

Beautiful! I pronounce it Ash-lynn.
I love it. And all three pronunciations are nice. I think I may be partial to Ash-leen too, though.
I pronounce it as AYS-ling. I don't really like either of the pronounciations, overall I don't care for it.
