[Opinions] Re: Margaretta

I know of one Margaretta, who lived in London and was never callled anything else. It seems unnecessary to me: Margaret is an austere classic and needs no help; Margaretta is quite a mouthful for everyday use. I would use Margaret, and try not to use any nns: apart from Peggy, I don't enjoy any of them, and in South Africa the standard nn is Margie, where the g sounds like the g in Margaret, not the g in ginger. I think it's awful, and I don't like Marge either.
