I find Leslie more dated as a male name than Lesley as a female name. Not sure why. I knew a British family, the father's name was Leslie, and his son got Leslie as his mn and his daughter got Lesley as hers. That was excessive, I thought. Father was always called Les (pronounced Lez; does Leslie have an s or a z sound in the US?).
