[Opinions] Cindy.
Ok, I love Cynthia and I am alright with Lucinda but I have a feeling that someone is gonna call my child this. I hate this name, what are your thoughts?

If you name your kid Lucinda, she will be inevitably be nicknamed Cindy, this is a fact. Also Cindy is a really cute name? Whats the issue?

You can tell people not to call her Cindy, but what happens once she’s old enough to decide for herself if she wants to be called Cindy? Are you going to forbid her to go by a nickname?I don’t think it’s a great idea to use a name with an obvious nickname you really hate.

Cynthia and Lucinda are both great names. I don't like Cindy at all. Introduce your child as Cynthia and most people will call her that. If they don't, which is kind of rude, correct them by saying "She goes by Cynthia."

Cindy is cute but almost too cute. I think of a bubbly blonde cheerleader of the 80s who is very popular, sweet, and friendly but not too bright.
I think Lucinda is ok but I think the Cindy nickname is a possibility. You can use Luci or call her by her full name but what if when she gets older and wants to be called Cindy?

I really like Cynthia - it feels very graceful and has those delicate fricative 's' and 'th' sounds - and I don't really think anyone these days would naturally use Cindy as a nickname for it like someone might call any Alexander "Alex." Maybe Cece could work as a nickname, if you really want her to have one? Or Thea?
I don't mind the sound of Cindy, but the name itself just feels so dated to me, I'd never use it.
Not a big fan of Lucinda - reminds me of the witches from Wizard of Oz.

I really dislike Cynthia for its unpleasant s and th sounds too close together and the picture I get of a grouchy-faced teacher who is just counting the days till she can retire.
Cindy is cute in a rather flaky way. A 1970s cheerleader in hot pants and go-go boots.
Lucinda is goofy to me, like a cartoon girl with pigtails and big round eyes and maybe a magic rocking horse or something. So, I guess I'd pick Cindy over the other two; but if I really disliked Cindy I'd avoid Cynthia. Lucinda would probably be about as likely to be called Lucy as Cindy. (Don't like Lucy either, it's just dumb-sounding.)
