[Opinions] WDYT of Cordelia?
It's pretty and I like old-fashioned names. Though my family doesn't like it so much. What are your thoughts?

I love old names too but this one has always, to me, just felt a little weird. I do think it could make a very lovely middle name or first name, but if used as a first name, think of nn options. If the only nn you can think of is cordy, then I would not name your child Cordelia

I don't like nicknames so much, myself. I don't think they are necessary, especially if the name has less than three syllables. I realize some people are adamant about nicknames, though, so good ones could be: Cora, Delia, Lia, Cory.

This may be a pretty unpopular opinion, but... it's definitely NMS. But it's okay.

Your taste in names is fine! People who like Cordelia aren't any "better" than people who don't.I think lots of people on this forum like stuff like "Cordelia" because we often like names that are interesting and different from the norm, and Cordelia is a good example of that in Western/English culture. It's a rarely-used name from an old, famous play, total name nerd stuff. You have a different cultural perspective, that's all. I'm curious about what the equivalent would be in Korea. What would people name their kids if they wanted to use names that feel romantic, historical, and dramatic?

Thank you. I will refrain from using such words in the future. Now that I think about it, I think it's not polite to other people who don't like Cordelia. And In Korea, pure Korean names are the most popular names with a romantic feel. Regarding historical things, as far as I know, in Korea, names that are popular in a certain era are usually used quite often, so there are not many names that are timeless (ex. Jiwon). Example:
Ga-eul/가을
Mirinae/미리내
Areum/아름
Ha-neul/하늘

I have always loved the name Cordelia! It reminds me of Anne of Green Gables, because Anne says that she wants to be called "Cordelia". I think Cordelia Anne would be a lovely name!

It's beautiful. I love it.

I like how dramatic it is, but I prefer Cornelia, which I adore.

I've was thinking about the two names the other day, trying to pick which one I like best. Cornelia is easier to pronounce but I like Delia as a nickname for Cordelia. Still undecided!

Ditto this! Cordelia is beautiful. The perfect name for a tragic heroine.

I really like it. I think it’s pretty but strong and a little different. The Cor part is not the most attractive, but there’s many nickname options.
