I like Stefan, and I actually really like Stefania as a feminine version. Both Stefan and Stepan are familiar to me, though Stephen is much more common here. I have a relative Stefan, but he pronounces it with the first part stressed (STEH-fahn). I think it has a nice sound, and an interesting meaning.
