There was a girl in my elementary school class named Daphne when I was growing up, and I always thought her name was SO cool. It felt so exotic and cheery. It also helped that she was really cute, and pretty nice. She was, and remains to be, the only Daphne I have ever met. Daphne was definitely not a typical name for a girl in a small Canadian city in the 80s - it felt really special.
