My culture impacts the names that I would use more than my religion, but yes, religion would influence my name choice. Name meanings are fascinating to me, and since I'm religious, I view meanings like "gift of God" as a bonus or at least not negatively.
When it comes to actually using a name, I tend to shy away from names with strong associations to religions that Im not part of. For instance, I would not use a name with an Islamic association since I do not follow that religion and am not part of a culture where those names on non-Muslims are common.
