I know a woman named Ashby. I've known her since I was little. It sounds so similar to Ashley, I guess it could be unisex in the same way. Though to me it seems like a girl's name, just because I'm so used to it as her name. I've never met a male Ashby, or any other Ashby for that matter.

My friend was named after a street or neighberhood near UC Berkeley. Both of her parents went to school there.
