[Facts] Re: origin of name Saichel
in reply to a message by Renee
"Satchel" is a name shared by both one of the great African-American baseball players, Satchel Paige, and Woody Allen's son, who was named after Satchel Paige.Spelled "Sachel" and pronounced "SAY-kel", this is a Yiddish word meaning "understanding, common sense, good judgement".Spelled "Sachiel", it is a name meaning "covering of God". According to *A Dictionary of Angels: Including Fallen Angels* by Gustav Davidson, Sachiel is "an angel of the order of hashmaillim (cherubim). Sachiel is resident of the 1st Heaven (in some sources, the 6th Heaven). He is a Monday (or Thursday or Friday) angel, invoked from the south (also from the west). In addition, he is a presiding spirit of the planet Jupiter. In poetic lore, he is called a servitor of the 4 sub-princes of the infernal empire."-- Nanaea

Thank you so very much Nanaea, especially for the correct spelling and Angel definition. I wish I could find from where the reference to water comes.......It is probably incorrect, that's why I'm not getting anywere. Any other suggestions for masculine names relating to the water or the sea?

You're very welcome, Renee. :) Try this:Go to this website's main page: http://www.behindthename.com/In the "Search" box, type in both the words "water" and "sea".Select the "search in meanings" choice directly below and to the left.Select the "find masculine names only" choice to the right.Click on the "Search" button. Is there a reason why you're looking for masculine names having something to do with the sea? Is there a particular ethnicity that you're aiming for? If you could give me some more info as to what you want, I'll see what I might be able to dig up for you.-- Nanaea
