Even though I prefer the spelling Katharine, I like Catherine much more than Charlotte. Yes, they are both classic, but I'm pretty sure that very soon Charlotte is going to absolutely shoot up in popularity, like Isabella, Ava, etc. Catherine is always around, but is never over the top in popularity. Plus, like you said, it has the nn's you love.
