I don't think they're too themey - in fact they're the perfect themey names, only obviously themey if you bother to look up the meanings.
I'm not sure they sit well together as sister names though - they don't *sound* wrong together, but Carys (which I love) is currently trendy whereas Esmee (which I'm neutral about) is decidedly old-fashioned, so they just sound like they come from different generations. That's just my pernickety perception though - if I switch that off they sound fine! :-)
