Shannon and Shanna
WDYT of these names for girls? I love them both and will consider them if we ever have a daughter. I think Shanna seems like a nice modern and feminine twist on Shannon.Any thoughts on them? Thanks!

I'm a bit biased, as well, but I have to say that I like Shanna as well. If I were asked to choose between the two names, I would definitely choose Shannon. That name just seems stronger and more substantial than Shanna. I would prefer to see Shannon on a boy these days though.

I definitely prefer Shannon to Shanna, although I'm sure I'm somewhat biased. Shanna isn't that bad- it just seems incomplete.Shannon

I prefer Shannon. I have a baaaaaad association with a Shanna though, so that could prejudice me against that name. I also just happen to think Shannon is prettier.

I love Shannon (on either sex -- it seems more 'normal' on a woman to me because that's my exposure). Shanna is nice - not my style because it seems a bit incomplete next to Shannon; but it is pleasant, not distractingly creative, and, as you say, looks modern. I don't think Shannon really suffers from a lack of femininity at all, even though it's not a specifically femme name. - chazda

I really like the name Shanna. It is different than Shannon but still pretty. I just love the sound of it! It's so pretty!

I personally dislike modern twists on old names. However, Shannon with a nickname of Shanna I like. If you want a more modern spelling of Shannon, you might want to consider Shannen.

I love the name Shannon and have done ever since I was little. I have only ever known the name Shannon to be feminine but I prefer this to Shanna which I don't really like. I would considerShannon as a name for my child but never Shanna.

Shannon is my middle name, and I do like it a lot. However, I was going to use Shannon I would use it as a mn for a boy. But I think it's fine for a girl too.Shanna is not my style.

Shannon is OK, but not really my style. Shanna looks like a trendy name, and I don't think it's a good twist on Shannon. Shannon is much better then Shanna.Shanna Shanna, Banana.... Or however that little tune goes.

I dislike Shannon ... It's somewhat more interesting on a boy but I still wouldn't use it.
I like Shannah in that spelling, but wouldn't use it.

Both Shannon and Shanna are feminine to me, and both are nms. I know a Shana, though, and it's probably better than Shanna INHO.

I prefer Shannon on a boy, but Shanna is a great feminine form of the name.
