In honor of its name day today, WDYT? Be honest, I don't mind. What nicknames would you use for it? If you use it in combos, what are some of your favorite combos?

I know a girl in school named Ariel. I think it's pretty and original, but not weird. It's still flirty and feminine and cool. It fits her so well, too.

I really like it, on a boy and a girl, and I love Arielle on a girl. If I used it for a girl, I'd nn her Aerie.Love the meaning :)

I like it, but I doubt I'd ever use it.

Ariel June
Ariel Margaret
Ariel Nora
Ariel Genevieve
Ariel Violet
Ariel Charlotte
Ariel Zara
Ariel Marigold
Ariel Opal
Ariel Willow
Ariel Sofia

Ariel (pronounced air ee uhl) isn't entirely my style, and reminds me of The Little Mermaid. It's not terrible, but nothing I'd use.I definitely prefer Arielle (pronounced are ee elle), and overall, Ariella (my top favorite girls' name).

I like it for a boy, but prefer Ariela or Arielle for a girl.

I like it for a boy only, honestly. My favorite combo is Isaac Ariel. I don't like any of the nicknames although Ari could be alright.

It's an okay name, but I can't disconnect it from the Little Mermaid association.I think Ari or Elle would be okay for nicknames.

I think it's all right. I wouldn't use it for my children, but I wouldn't mind meeting an Ariel. Though I do have trouble seeing it on an adult.I like the nn Arie (like airy) or Elle.
