Lily or Lillian?
Lillian is starting to grow on me. I have always loved Lily, but Lillian is more recent. Is Lily better on its own, or is it better to have just Lily?

Not Lily, I'm getting so bored of hearing it. Every D-list celebrity in Britain seems to have a child named Lily and I find it very cutesy. I *love* Lilian but I really dislike the second L. Two L's is quite enough; three looks messy.ETA: I rather like Lilia. Also, my exception to the three-L thing is that I do love Lillie. Not Lilly, though - go figure.

I like them both equally, so I'd probably use Lillian with the nn Lily.

I like them both so much too! Two things might help you decide. First, if the your last name is a short one syllable, you might want to do Lillian depending on what the last name is. With more syllables, both names work. Also, Lillian can be called Lily, but Lily cannot be called Lillian.

I much prefer Lily. Lillian sounds so little old lady to me. I did see LilyAnn once in a birth announcement, and like that because it is more like a combo name than a respelling of Lillian.
Lily is so soft, feminine and pretty. Lillian is less feminine and has a bit of a harshness to me.

I like both, but prefer Lillian with Lily as a nn.

I prefer Lillian to Lily, but I think Lily is fine on its own.

I prefer just Lily - though both names are very popular, Lily seems more fresh.
