1. What names are you thinking of most today?
Pearl, Vivia, Esther, Frances, Dorothy, Edith
Irving, Walter, Nelson, Ira, Ashley, Ichabod, Dexter, Theodore
2. Do you think its ok to have themed middle names in a sibset if you like all the names?
Yes.
3. Do you think its ok to name a child after a book/movie character if its not REALLY obvious, and you were passionate about the book/movie?
Yes.
4. Do you think in about 8 years time it'll be ok to call a boy Shiloh?
I think it's ok to call a boy Shiloh right now, but I still don't like the name.
5. How do you find most of the names you put on your list, or have you just come across them over the years?
Old actors/actresses, classic movie characters, favourite poems and stories, royal genealogy, my own ancestors...
6. How long have you had a name list?
Since I was a little girl. :)
7. Do you write fiction/film scripts etc?
No, I don't write them down, but in moments of boredom, I make up storylines in my head.
8. Whats your least favourite name atm?
Isabella
Jacob
9. Whats the first combo that comes into your head right now? Quick!!!

10. Do you think pets should have pet names (e.g. Fluffy) or people names or do you not really care?
I don't really care, but all my cats have people names:
Sally (nns: SalCat, SallyCat, Sal, Lil Sal [because she's so tiny])
Oscar (nns: Osk, Heavy O [he's a tubby cat :)], Oo hoo [I think I came up with this while trying to say his name with my mouth full of food, lol])
Gilbert: (nns: Gibby, Gibbs, Gibbert, Gibbons, GibCat, and many, many more!)
11. Whats the oddest combo (in your opinion) that you've ever liked?
Rowan Jade for a girl. Odd because neither name is usually my style. In fact, those names are probably furthest from my typical style. But there's something magnetic about the combo.
12. Do you go through phases with your names, or do you tend to stick with most of them?
I have a list of favourites that never go away, but I'm constantly acquiring new names. I suppose it would be more correct to say that my naming style stays the same while top favourites go in and out.
13. If you're planning on having children, how many would you want?
I'm not planning on having children at this moment. I go through phases of feeling maternal, but right now, children don't seem to be in the cards.
14. Is there one name you'd really like to use, but feel like you can't for some reason or other? If so, what name and why.
Fanny, for the obvious reasons. However, should I have a daughter and feel so deeply infatuated with it that I can't see myself not using it, I'll use it.
15. Do you like nature/word names or think they're a bit too weird and non-namey?
I love flower names. I don't necessarily think nature names are weird, they're just not names that I find myself drawn to.

I recently met a girl named Fanny.
It was her full name Fanny Rebekah. Her sister is Molly Johanna.
She seemed to be pretty well-adjusted!

Oh what darling names! Fanny and Molly are absolutely great.
I understand people's concerns of using Fanny, but it's such a fabulous name. I'm wondering if people have reservations about the name because they truly think using it will be a detriment to a person's life, or if they shy away from it because everyone else says they should.
I do feel quite strongly about it, and if I had a child today, I'd probably use it. (Although, it would be a tough decision because Frances is fighting with Pearl for dominance. Mental name smackdowns, FTW!)
