Cricket
A girl friend of mine on the net told me the other day that her two favorite names at the moment were:Cricket and Piper. One was for a girl and the other for a boy but I can't remember which way around she had them. I've never heard of Cricket used before.

I dislike both. Cricket is ridiculous, come on, it's an insect.

Cricket strikes me as very yuppie NN. Like Buffy.

I work at a pet store...And a lot of what I do is scooping up piles of crickets to sell to people with reptiles. It's sort of fun to watch them, but they're definitely not something to name a child after. Yick.

I like it. I went to JR. High with a girl named Cricket.

Cricket is silly, but Piper isn't so bad.

Cricket is okay as a NN or for a pet, but I don't care for it as a full name.

I like it...(m)as a nickname. It's what we call one of my cousins (girl). It's not my style at all for a proper name (nor is Piper - both tend more towards GPs for me). Nice, but not something I'd use as a first name.

Cricket is definitely a big NO NO!!!!

*splat*I've heard of it...but it's a total soap oprea name to me and all I can see is the character Phillip Burns putting all 300lbs on a rather annoying one.

Ick. I know an old lady whose nn is Cricket, her real name is Ollie. Her husband's nn is Tick, incidentally. Bugs, anyone?Personally I find Cricket to be a goofy nn and not something that would work on an adult. Piper is cutesy to me, like a cat or dog.

I LOVE Cricket [girl]! More as a nickname honestly but I like it as a first anme as well. Piper I adore on a boy.

DittoI like Piper on a girl, though.
