Beatrice
Beatrice has been a favorite of mine for a long time; I always thought it had a lovely freshness to it. But at lunch with some of my friends the other day, they all thought that it sounded old and matronly. So I was just curious what your thought were about Beatrice. Thanks for your time.

i think Beatrice is adorable, and that if the full name sounds old and matronly, the nickname Bea sure doesn't

Love it, but my husband thinks it's old ladyish

HuzzahOld and matronly is definitely the hip new thing these days, the mustier the better! I like the name Beatrice too, especially the nickname "Bee" or "Bea" (bee-ah). Super cute for a little one, and a fine name that one can grow into and achieve anything with!

I don't mind it, though I wouldn't personally use it. I see nothing wrong with it though. I however prefer Beatrix.

I like it, and think "Bee" is a cute nn for a little girl.

I love Beatrice. I think it's a beautiful name - and absolutely sweet and refreshing on a baby or little girl.(I do slightly prefer Beatrix, though.)

It reminds me of Beatrice milkand I think it sounds old and matronly too. I picture Beatrice as an old maid for some reason. I don't like it at all.

I really like it it's really high on my list. I teach Spanish and I also like the name Beatriz. I don't like Beatrix because I don't like the name Trixie as a NN. One of the nicest girls in my high school was named Beatrice and her NN was Bia. I think it sounds very fresh and not fussy or old lady like. Also the sister of Ramona in the Beverly Cleary books was called Beatice.

Definitely don't like it...It just seems like a name you can't have if you're a kid. Like, I would've hated life if my name was Beatrice.Beatrix is slightly better if only for the fact that you can call yourself Trixie if you want
