Lindsay.
Lately i have havn't been able to get this name off my mind, i really like it. The only thing is that i hate the spelling. I pronounce it LYNS-ey not LINDS-ey and the way its spelled makes it look like its LYNDS-ay. Whats your opinion on the name and do you have any suggestions about spellings that will avoid looking made up and trendy. Thank you! :)

Lindsay is my two year old daughter's name so obviously I could see it on a baby. :) I actually know two other Lindsay/Lindseys under three so I don't think it's truly dated. It is my favorite girl name and just makes me think of someone happy and spunky and beautiful-like my baby girl. :) While Lindsay is my favorite spelling (obviously), I also like Lindsey and even Lyndsay and Lyndsey or Lindsie are cute. But Lindsay looks the nicest to me.
Coming from a real life Lindsay, I love my name. I was born in the early 80s though, so its kind of hard for me to imagine a baby Lindsay these days. I still love it though.
But I like it because it's preppy and spunky but not trashy like other names ending with an -ee sound like Brandy or Missy.
Also, I only personally know about 4 other Lindsays, so it doesn't feel too common.
And the Lindsay Lohan thing doesnt bother me, I've never had anyone say anything about her to me because we share the same name.

Lindsay is such a popular name in Scotland, while that's the most common spelling I've seen I've also come across:
Linzi
Lynsey
Lyndsey
Linsey
Lindsey
Lynsay
Lyndsay
Linzi
Lynsey
Lyndsey
Linsey
Lindsey
Lynsay
Lyndsay
I used to like this name until Lindsay Lohan ruined it.
I love it. I would avoid Lindsey or Lindsei.
