Moriah
What do you think of the name Moriah? It's one of the few modern English names I actually like. It sounds pretty and classy to me, and it's a Bibical name. I've never actually met or heard of anyone called Moriah, so it must be uncommon, too. But one of the comments says it looks like a trashy spelling of Mariah. Moriah has never struck me as being a tacky name, and it's not even related to the name Mariah. Is Moriah considered a trashy name? WDYT?Thanks

Well, I think if you're using it in an English-speaking country, many people would assume it was a kre8iv spelling of Mariah. That was my first thought when I saw it. Then again, I can just as easily see it as the Biblical name that it is now. It's not terrible, but I'm not crazy about it either.

I don't think it's tacky at all! I actually prefer it over Mariah.

It's nice. I prefer the look of Mariah - I don't find it trashy, personally, I've never met a Mariah and it is a classic name.

Sadly, I agree with the poster that said it seems trashy. I don't know why, but I don't find Mariah trashy (albeit not attractive either), but once it's spelt Moriah, it becomes trashy to me. Same with Brianna here. Brianna = trendy, Brionna = trashy.

It sounds so close to Mariah in my accent that I can barely tell the difference. And to be honest, Mariah seems kind of trashy to me. Therefore, Moriah does too. I don't like either name, sorry.
