Laurence and Philippa
What do you think of them separately and together?
Replies
I love them but together, they sound like sort of spoiled upperclass siblings...
Really? I've never really thought of Laurence as particularly upper-class. No one I've met named Laurence has fit that category.
Brilliant, especially Philippa.
I take it Laurence is Anglophone and therefore male? I always see it as French and therefore fem, so for a boy I'd use the Lawrence version.

hmmm... didn't realize it was only fem in Fr. Of course, the only Fr. speaker I recall meeting w/ the name is a gal from Belgium, so I'd just guessed it must be for both there... Apparently not... I think it looks better w/ the u in either gender though. Depending where 1 lives, if there aren't many Fr. speakers around, the chances of it being taken as fem are extremely low. My Belgian friend goes by Lolo.
marvellous
I love them separately (though admittedly I'd be more stoked to meet a Philippa than a Laurence, just because it's rarer to see) and together they are richly delicious. I think they suit each other surprisingly well and have a nice balance of quirk and tradition.

I looove Phillipa. It's seriously swoonworthy. Laurence is not a favorite of mine, mostly because I worry about the inevitability of "Larry," but it's not bad. Together, they make a charming sibset.
I love Laurence so long as the nn Larry can be avoided. I like Philippa a little less well, but it has the advantage of being a both sporty and very feminine.
As a sibset, the names are smashing.

I love Philippa. I think it's gorgeous, yet almost tomboy-ish.
I'm more mixed on Laurence. I don't mind IT so much, but I HATE the nickname Larry. *Ugh*
I do like them collectively.

I love 'em.
Laurence (Laurie) is adorable, and Philippa is blue-blood charming. I think they balance each other out and make a good sibset.

Ah! I love them both separately, but even more together! Beautiful! I can't even explain to you how much this pleases me :) And not saying that I would use nicknames, but I automatically thought Laurie and Pippa.

I love Philippa.
Laurence is nice, too, for a boy.

Ooh, I love them both individually and collectively!
I like Laurence a lot better than Lawrence, although it isn't a name I necessarily 'like'. Would it have a nickname? I definitely like Philippa. They don't sound like siblings to me though, if that's what you were going for.
Nope. No nicknames for Laurence. He's an octopus I knitted, so he has no need of a nickname.
