Andromeda?
Thinking of naming a character in my latest book this...What are your first impressions of the name? What do you imagine an Andromeda would look like and be like?

Andromeda has red, beautiful hair and big, green eyes. She is fiery, but kind. She writes poetry, plays the flute, likes music like Hayley Westenra and Sarah Brightman and likes to walk barefoot.

On it's own, it's a great name. However, I dislike the nickname Andie.EDIT: Sorry, misread the original post! I think Andromeda would be a very strong girl--tempestuous?--with blazing red hair and really piercing eyes. I'm thinking hazel. Oh, and despite her inner strength, she would be quite small physically.

I think it just sounds so pretty. Especially in a British accent...yeah, I don't know why. Just, try saying it slowly in a British accent.

I think of the Andromeda Galaxy, and then Andromeda-who-almost-gets-eaten-by-a-sea-monster. I like the name, but it does have a lot of very solid associations.
I picture long, wavy, black hair and a pale complexion. I'd assume a person named Andromeda would have a sort of intense personality- not in a bad way, she just would not be bubbly or over-friendly and probably never hyper.

I don't like it that much. I would imagine a character named Andromeda would be a total Mary Sue.

I like it pronounced andro-MEE-dah.I can see a fictional character with the name, but she should go by a nickname, like Andie or Meda.

This may sound silly but it makes me think of a robot. I think Android and then Ann-droid which they had in Doctor Who a while back. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3104/2719772884_77108c570c.jpg?v=1217515120
