Mira and Vida
This sibset came into my head the other day and it intrigued me. I love the meanings, "peace" and "life" in Slovenian. The middle manes would likely be Mira Josephine and Vida Ruth, Josephine and Ruth are family names.

Despite its nice meanings in other languages, I'm afraid I can't warm to Mira, because in Spanish it means 'look, sight'.That might not seem like a bad meaning, but there are a few phrases in Spanish which include mira/miras, that ruin as a name for me.For example...De miras estrechas - narrow-minded/to look at things narrowly
Mira de bombardero - bombsightVida I love though. It means 'life' in Spanish.

Would Mirabel / Mirabelle have the same association in Spanish to you?

Yes it would.I like Mirabel, but would never use it, because it makes me think of the word mira.

Vida doesn't mean life in Slovenian, it's meaning comes from Latin.I don't really like them together Mira is considered dated and Vida is more contemporary. I love Vida Josephine as a combo.

Yes, technically. They're just both Slovenian names. :P I could've been clearer. Thanks about the perception of the names as a Croatian. :D

I love Vida! I'm so happy to see that! Mira is pretty too. I think they are great together

I like them. I wouldn't use those combos exactly, but they're good :) I like Mira as a full name and as a nn. Same with Vida I suppose. I'd use Mira, probably not Vida though.
