Dolly
I love Dolly. LOVE it. I love Dolly Parton. Jerry O'Connell And Rebecca Romijn have a twin daughter named Dolly. I think Rosy and Dolly go adorably together. EVERYONE tells me (several times daily) that Rosy looks like a dolly. (She really does lol). My grandmother was called Dolly her whole life (she was a Delphina). My mother absolutely loves it (hard to get her to like any name I like, she's the uber tryndee), and my husband likes it.I don't like any name I can think of for a longer version for the nickname Dolly. Don't like Dolores or Dorothy. Dahlia, Gwendolen, and Delphine all got axed.Could Dolly work as a stand alone name, or can you help me find another name for Dolly to be a nickname of??(I would like a nickname to make a little sense, I'm aware I could just name a baby Sarah and CALL her Dolly, but that's not what I'm seeking)Thanks.

I agree that Rosy & Dolly are an adorable sibset!!
I think it could work as a full name. What about Dorothea, Cordelia (a stretch), Delilah, Delaney (don't think that's your style but throwing it out there), Denelda, Donalda, Dulcie?

I think Dolly stands alone just fine!I really like the idea of honouring your grandma by using Delphina nn Dolly, but let's see if I can think outside the box. Too bad you're not onboard with Dolores/Dorothy - Rosemary and Dolores, aaugh! Beauty. Dalya, Dalia
Madaline, Madalyn
Odalis, Odalys
Madalena, Magdalena, Magdalene
Kendall
Delaney
Delora
Della
Odell, Odelia
(PS for a few years I was totally enamoured with the idea of naming a daughter Dali because it was a "hip, artsy" version of Dolly. True story!)

I thought about Dalia and Magdalena, I don't know if he would agree to them. Della intrigues me, but don't think dh would agree to it either. Madalyn is out and I don't really care for the rest, though Delora is kind of neat.Lol about Dali!

I love Dolly too, for personal reasons. I got a Little Monkey Lost the Christmas I was 7 and I named it Dolly. Just Dolly, nothing else. And sure, she wasn't real, but I still think Dolly works on its own. But if you want Dolly as a nn, what about Dorothea? Donalda, Donatella, Dorcas, Doretta?

I love Dolly on it's own, I think we're in the minority though. I don't like any of the names you listed though :(

Adelaide - seems to quite easily shorten to Dolly
Dora / Doria / Doriane / Doris
Magdolna
Daisy Olga Louisa or something similar with DOL initials
Some other first name and Delphina as a middle name after your grandmother, and call her Dolly from that?

I like the idea of using Delphine/a as a middle name. Other than that, don't like Adelaide or any of the Dora names listed. DH would say no to Magdolna, and not sure about the initials thing.
Thanks :)
