I don't really like it. It's too nicknamey for me. I can see other Russian nicknames as full names on non-Russians, such as Natasha, Katya, and Tanya. But Sasha sounds kinda cutesy on its own.I can't picture Sasha on a boy. Sorry.

I really like it as an nn for Alexander, and don't mind it on its own. Not so keen when it's on girls; too reminiscent of frilly party dresses with sashes.

Depends if you mean Sasha for a boy or a girl. Personally, I don't care for it on it's own, but I do really like it as a nickname for Alexander or Alexandra. Especially Alexander, because I prefer Sasha on a boy.

Where I live, Sasha is now a motor racing journalist who started out as a rock DJ. So Sasha comes across as a guy who does his own thing but maybe tries a tad too hard. That said, friends of mine adopted a stray cat (actually, it adopted them) and named it Sasha because it was Sasha nice cat ... gender unknown, btw.

I like it for a boy, both as an actual name and nickname. I don't like it much on a girl - as a nickname it works.

I have no idea why I feel this way but I have always thought Sasha was a good name for a siberian husky... I just can't get past that.... :-(

I like it in general. On a boy I think it's cute. On a girl I think it's still cute, but a little frilly/princessy/ballerina/etc. I'd like to meet an Alexandra "Sasha" though... For a boy I actually prefer Sasha to Sascha, and I don't mind it as a full name although I prefer it as short for Alexander.

I actually really like it. It's not my favourite, but it's a cool name.

For a boy or girl? I prefer it for a girl's FN but for a nickname for Aleksandr or Aleksander.
