Delphine! The 'a' in Daphne is nasally where I'm from, and I like the emphasis on the latter syllable better, too.

I love them both, but I think Daphne is more usable.

DaphneThere's something a tad pretentious about Delphine, I'm not sure why. It also makes me think of 'dolphin'.I love the name Daphne.

Delphine...is amazing!I do really like it. I'd be more inclined towards using it as a middle name, because it's got the perfect sound to round off a combo of names, but I like it as a first name too.I used to really hate Daphne. It's since grown on me a bit, and it has a little charm, but it's never going to be my favourite name.

Delphine!!I love French names, and Delphine is one of my favourites. Very beautiful and elegant, with some fun nn options (Delphi, Della).Daphne on the other hand just sound skinda silly and daft to me. And I think of Daffy duck.

DelphineDaphne is something better suited for a Brit in my opinion. Sounds ridiculous, but it just sounds nicer when said in that accent as opposed to an American one.

That is really tough. Reeeeeally tough. I think I'd go with Daphne, because I find it elegant and yet scrumptiously, cheek-pinchingly adorable. But Delphine is lovely too. Like I said, really tough choice.

I'd go with Delphine. It's one of my favorite names, and I find it absolutely gorgeous. Daphne reminds me of Daffy Duck and the words "daffy" and "daft." I don't think that it's a terrible name, but I don't like it all that much. I used to really dislike it, but it has grown on me some.

i agree that Delphine sounds pretentious. i've met 3 really lovely Daphne's and the name is attractive! it's a good name because it not overly used and there's rarely ever gonna be 2 Daphne's in a room at the same time. this makes it a very individual and distinctive name.
