During my daughter's first pregnancy, she and her partner had decided on Athena for a girl. It was definite, as I recall. Neither that pregnancy nor the next resulted in a girl, and in the time since she's kicked around several other girl names and the last one I heard was Vivien.

I was never too enthused about Athena. I don't think it's terrible, but I just can't get enthused about it, either. I'm glad that I'm now unlikely to have a granddaughter named Athena.
