Alani
I really love Alani at the moment. Pronounced ah-LAH-nee. Hawaiian, means orange tree. Opinions? I also like Alana pr. ah-LAH-na, which do you prefer?

I like both Alani and Alana. If I had to use one I'd probably pick Alana, although Alani is "brighter" (more 'tropical', maybe, while Alana is still fresh-looking but very European).

I like Alani. Alana is nice too, but I think I prefer the prn of Alani and I've always had a soft spot for Hawaiian names.

I prefer Alana, but I've got English and Irish ancestry and no Hawaiian ancestry/connection, so I've never learned much about Hawaiian names. I do think the sounds of Alani are soft, pretty, peaceful and I like the imagery of an orange grove. It's simple, easy to say; should fit in just fine on the mainland. :)

I've liked Alani for years and I think it's quite a cute name. I prefer it to Alana.
