Emily... or Emilie?
Im so so to the name Emily. I know it was up there 5 to 10 years ago and it still is now. But, I love Emilie. It sounds more feminine is spelling. So, which spelling do you prefer?

I love both. It depends on the region and the last name. I do prefer Émilie WITH the accent aigu :D

I love Emilie, but only with this spelling.I adore Emilie Simon and that seems to influence my preference.

Do you pronounce Emilie differently than Emily? If they're pronounced the same I would 100% go with Emily, just because I'm not a fan of out-of-the-norm spellings. I think it just ends up being annoying for the kid, growing up and having her name constantly misspelled.

I'm used to Emily and I suppose Emilie would work with a French surname. I went to school with a girl named Emilie. Overall, I suppose I prefer Emily although despite having a niece with the name, I just don't find it to be very exciting. WDYT of Emilia? It's a little more different and she'd have other nn options.

Since you ask which spelling, I'm guessing you pronounce Emily and Emilie the same way. In my brain, Emilie is *supposed* to be "e-MEE-lee-ə", but I'm never sure which is meant when I see it. If I wanted the "EM-ə-lee" pronunciation to be clear to everyone who reads the name, I'd use Emily, but my guess is that most English speakers on the street would pronounce them the same way.

If you're pronouncing it like Emily, then spelling it anything other than Emily seems daft to me.

Emily
Emilie does looks nice and is feminine, but Emily is SO popular that you'd constantly be getting it spelt Emily, and have to correct people.I like long versions like Emilia, with Emily as a nickname -that makes it a bit more feminine too.

I like them both. Personally, I would go with Emily only because the "sound" of the name is the same for both spellings and Emily will cause less misspellings for her when she gets older.

I don't see how one could look or sound more feminine than the other. Whoever heard of a boy named Emily?
They are exactly the same to me except Emilie would get misspelled more often.
I don't like the name at all.

I like Emily better. But I'm not a huge fan of the name regardless. It just seems like the more common spelling would be less confusing.

Emilie is very medieval, actually. Wasn't Emilie the chick in the Knight's Tale? I far prefer Emily, though. It's been standard for so long that Emilie looks wrong.

I prefer Emily because it is the usual English spelling. I would be tempted to pronounce Emilie the French way.

I like Emily best. Th "y" below the line is more interesting, I think.
