The only time I ever encountered this name in real life is on a girl who goes to school with my daughter. It's spelled differently, I can't remember just how, but maybe Makaiah. It's pronounced Ma-KY-a, with a pretty much neutral first vowel sound. She has a twin named Mikayla.
