I don't like it, though not for the sound (Classical Latin pronunciation: lee-bear, as far as I remember), which is actually pretty nice. However, it sounds lot like liberi, which means children in Latin, so to me it's uncomfortably close to making your kid "Child". Liber itself means book and free, as I remember. If you're going to use it as a name, then it's definitely masculine. Liber is a masculine noun!
