3 interesting sightings
2 newborns: Cotton and Parley (unsure of Parley's gender)
And a disabled girl featured in a story about breed specific legislation. A teenager, and her name's O'Hara

Bad, bad, and bad.
Both of those names are, and to say bluntly "stupid." Feel sorry for those poor kids. 0_0
Maybe Parley can work as a name. I can definitely see it as a surname but cotton? May as well name one cotton and the other one bush. Again, if cotton as a name then a surname. I mean I wouldn't even know what gender they belong to...lol
O'Hara: not bluntly stupid at all. Just screams surname especially with the apostrophy. I think Ohara or just Hara would have been nicer

I don't cotton to the name Cotton either. (second def., verb http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cotton?show=0&t=1417268704 Some people with the ln of Cotton are listed, too) But it has been used as a first name before. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cotton_Mather
Parley isn't a name. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parley
Not a fan of O'Hara, either.

Cotton is a girl or boy?
Parley sounds kind of like bad french to me: "Parlez". Lol.
O'Hara is a bit odd, but I kind of like it.

What is breed specific legislation?
re: BSL
We actually have breed-specific legislation in our city, Jodi! Technically, it is illegal to own a pit bull and other similar bully breeds (like Staffordshire Bull Terriers) within city limits, and if they are brought into the city they must be muzzled at all times. I don't agree with it - it has little to do with the breed and everything to do with the owner.

Actually not true. Yes, not all pit bulls or bully breeds would attack; whether humans or other animals but you can't control their temperament (their behavior and DNA I guess that's embedded into their minds) Like how Dushunds are stubborn for example.
There are times when it IS the owners fault. Absolutely. And then there's those stories you hear about dog attacks (pit bulls specifically) with no provoking causing the insinit. And these are dogs who never grew up in a shelter\pound,never abused and grew up in a loving family. countless of fatal attacks and deaths-many of them young children. sorry but I choose the safety of people over a specific breed of dog especially when there's SO many other breeds to choose from.
Sometimes, it has nothing to do with the owner at all.
I know that some will disagree with me. Regardless, I wanted to share my opinion on this important matter anyway.

Cotton is a boy
Breed specific legislation are laws that ban certain breeds of dogs. This one in particular banned pit bulls and Rottweilers. O'Hara has a pit that while not technically a service dog does help alert her family when she has seizures. Her mother started a petition and got a LOT of signatures. CNN picked up the story and the town ended up reversing the newly minted law :)

I don't like Cotton on anybody. Maybe a rabbit. :)
I see. And why would they want to ban certain breeds of dogs - aggressive behaviour?

Cotton on a rabbit. Yes, that could work (: just definitely NOT on a human haha :P
As for the breeds, yeah I guess it would be due to aggressive behavior. Like how "pitbulls." Are nearly the first breed that comes to mind. I know where I live, most Pitts aren't allowed in apartments (like can't live there)most landlords don't allow it. I guess i'm going to have to look into this story. (:

Yes it's based on an assumption that all dogs of those breeds are aggressive. Rubbish really. It came to be (in this town) after residents complained about "vicious" dogs that were not properly secured and so would chase them around the neighborhood. The town is now looking at alternative (more logical) was to keep these dogs secured- like enforcing leash and fencing laws.
