Penny. I think it's cute. A negative is that it's a nickname and I hate nicknames as given names. On the other hand, I don't like Penelope. Which is why I'd never actually have a Penny. But for the sake of this exercise, if I had to, Penny.For a boy, Brenton. It's kind of manufactured and trendy sounding, but I like Brent, which is what I would call him.

It's funny but I've never thought of Penny as a nickname before. I think of the coin first of all, which probably isn't the first thought for non-Brits (even though I know the term penny/pennies are used in the States). I know three people called Penny and as far as I know that's their full name.
